Think that your cat needs a fancy set of dishes to eat from?  He doesn’t. But, what he does need is something that is sturdy and durable and it needs to be easy for you to clean as well. Cat feeders and bowls should be cat-proof. One type of cat feeder is a type that refills from a reservoir as your cat drinks from the bowl. These can be used to feed one cat for several days even. You can use these to feed multiple cats too. There are some disadvantages to using them though. For example an aggressive cat can easily prevent the other shyer cats from getting enough food.
It is also harder to know just how much food the cat is eating so you may not realize if he is eating less than he normally does. This is an important sign that he’s not feeling well and it can be a serious problem then. Cats that are finicky may waste a lot of food by refusing to eat it if it has been sitting in the feeder for too long.

Our intentional behavior with the best of our intent can irritate our dogs so much because our dogs are not humans. We are friends, companions and mates but we are not the same.  Just like we are unable to grasp many things that dogs do even dogs find it hard to relate to a lot of our annoying habits. Let’s talk about few of our habits that get the dog’s goat and to be honest; even we are guilty of few of these. None the less, let us discuss those.

What percentage of a cat’s waking time does she spend grooming?
a. 10%
b. 50%
c. 60 %

The answer is around (b) 50 % of her time, when awake. (Cats take sleeping to professional levels, with 16 to 20 hours out of every 24 spent napping). Grooming keeps a cat’s coat clean and odor free, which for hunting makes fur the equivalent of an invisibility cloak. But grooming also plays a major part in keeping her skin healthy. One thing’s for sure, if your cat has sore or scabby skin, get her seen by a vet. Skin disease is a strong sign that something is wrong, be that with the skin itself or as a complication of another problem.

Skin Disease as a Complication:
When a cat’s fur becomes dull and starry, it’s a fair bet that she’s not grooming properly. That matted fur may be an important clue that’s she poorly and doesn’t feel up to washing today.
